Because of this course, I was invited by Rev. Debi Reeves, to join the firs celebration that was Yule.
In the beginning was somebody telling about Norse Wicca. Then a bit later, they were coming around with little gifts. I choose a stone ( at that time , my husband was still my boyfriend and we didn’t had kids yet) I choose a stone with the Rune Berkana: Essentially, Berkana is a female rune. It indicates Goddess force, female fertility, and the relationship between a mother and her child, especially the relationship between a mother and her infant. Then after this was a another ritual. A big man clothed in Viking style was making a circle, first with a burning sword evoking Odin and then with the hammer evoking Thor and slamming the hammer onto the floor. After this the 4 elements are being hailed, water, earth, fire and air. The apple juice was blessed and be made a toast to all the Gods and Goddesses. The altar was beautiful decorated with a little Christmas tree, and ivy… and next to the altar on poles were Viking helmets. We got a paper boat with a piece of apple in it and on my paper boat was written two Runes. The runes Eohl and Peorth. Rune Eohl: Associated to: Elk - The Rune signifies a fortunate new influence entering the subject's life such as a new hobby, or career, or a new better relationship with someone. When backed by other love runes, it can signify a romance based not on physical attraction, but on friendship and trust. The elk is a powerful animal that can sense danger very fast and yet is so large that it can face and defeat danger. This rune will help you find your way in life safely. This rune is also known as Eolx and Algix. Rune Peorth: This rune symbolizes secrets. It speaks about hidden emotions or events. It signifies mystery and the revealing of a secret. You will have an opportunity to find someone or something and have a second chance.
The ritual was closed with writing negative thoughts onto paper and then it was collected in a basket. They put all the papers in the cauldron and was burned there. After that we wrote our wishes onto paper and together with laurier it was also burned. It was a magnificent evening.
The second celebration was Imbolc. We are waiting until everybody is there and in the mean time they are telling stories about Northern Wicca. But before we go into the circle that was made, we were purified of all the negativity around us and after that blessed. Before we enter the circle , we must walk anti-clockwise to enter it. When everybody is in the circle, the 4 elements are being hailed and 1 by 1 the torch was lit with fire. We evoke the goddess Freya and the God Thor. For the purifying ritual , we have to jump over a burning cauldron. We really have to see we jump high enough that we don’t set ourselves on fire. The next ritual was having a broom in you hand and sweeping the old out of our lives so that we can allow new things to come in. As last, we are blessing the food and drinks en we get a little pouch with seed to plant. The ritual closes with thanks prayer to the goddess and god. Then the the flames of the torches are extinguished clock wise, one by one.
The last celebration I attended was Ostara. So I was invited to the Seax-Wicca Ostara Sabbat hosted by Amber Moon Coven. And we had to bring our food with us. Because it was far, I left early and arrived early. When everybody had arrived the dark was setting in. We get an introduction into the history of Seax-Wicca. A friendship totem was giving through, and when somebody had the totem, they had to introduce themselves a little bit, our name, who we are and what portion of the Wicca we were interested. After the introduction she explains the ritual that we are going to preform. Her husband will be the gatekeeper, he protects the circle by making it with his spear. Then he blows the horn after all the torches are lit. Everybody goes into the circle and the gatekeeper closes the circle. We are now in a place that’s not a place. We put our hands up and we call the Gods and the Goddesses. Then the priestess blesses us with water on our throat chakra. We can sit now. She takes a staff where a sprout from a flower was attached to it. It is the staff off fertility. We are called to give a bit our soul into the staff. So under the chant “ Bless this handsome wand” we put a bit of our soul, a bit of our power into it as it changes hands. We take then the seeds that she gives us, with the hand that we are not writing with. Place the other hand above it and project all our wishes and dreams into it. The power of suggestion. We place the seeds in the little pot with earth, bury it and water it. As last was the blessing of the eggs, water and food. Then the circle got undone and the party could begin under the starry sky.
Even though I just attended 3 celebrations, it were celebrations I never would forget or how it made me feel. These celebrations was so beautiful to take part in, with souls who believe the same as you.
But slowly my interest got stronger in Kundalini and slowly I move directions, and a few months in searching Kundalini , I accidentally stumble on the messages of Salusa and then my Ascension path was born…..
I made this posts private because also the rituals that are given here are a bit private, but not so private I can’t share it with people I can trust.
Love Lisa
